RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, California State University, Carson, California 6/2005 - present: The role of peroxiredoxin in radiation resistant breast cancer cells. To understand the mechanism underlying radiation resistance and eventually find therapeutic methods to overcome this problem.

Beckman Fellow, Department of Medical Oncology, City of Hope National Medical Center, Duarte, CA, 6/2001 - 6/2005:
Acquired radiation resistance breast cancer cell line (MCF+FIR30) is highly resistance to radiation and therefore suitable to be used as a model system to study the adaptive survival to chronic ionizing radiation. I have identified a peroxiredoxin protein that is significantly up regulated in radiation resistant breast cancer cells using comparative 2D proteomic analysis. I am further identifying the role of this protein in radiation resistant cancer cells.

Postdoctoral Associate, Department of Pharmacology, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA, 9/1999 - 6/2001 Functional study of c-Jun and GST protein in cell signaling to drug resistance and stress response.
Doctoral Student, Department of Physiology and Biophysics, School of Medicine, SUNY at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, NY, 6/1995 - 9/1999 Mechanistic aspects of phospholipase C - beta isozymes in G-protein regulated signaling transduction pathway.
