Affiliations and Activities
Science Society has been named an "Outstanding" or "Commendable" chapter every year of its existence as a student affiliate chapter of the American Chemical Society ( ACS ).
- immediate past chair of SCALACS , the Southern California Section of the ACS
- The chapter received the public relations award for 1997 from the ACS national office.
- The nominee from the Southern California Section was named the outstanding high school teacher from the western region of the United States.
- Two of the four students who represented the United States in the International Chemistry Olympiad were from Southern California and were selected through the section's Chemistry Olympiad exams.
