1) Bridge to the Doctorate Program at Cal State Los Angeles (LSAMP-BD)
This program is designed to provide support for students who wish to pursue a path towards a PhD. in a SEM discipline, but also to earn an MS along the way and improve their competitiveness. Students are expected to complete a Master of Science degree in science, engineering or mathematics within two years, and enter a PhD program thereafter. For the two years, each participant will receive a $30,000 stipend per year as long as they meet target goals.

2) Community College Transfer Student Merit Award
An award of $3000 will be awarded to a student who meets the following eligibility criteria:
a) An incoming transfer student to CSUDH majoring in a STEM discipline.
b) An individual who has faced or faces social, educational or economic barriers to careers in STEM.
c) Expresses an interest in attending graduate school in a STEM field.

The transfer student applicant with the highest science/mathematics GPA in Fall 08 will receive the award.
