Program Description

The Biology Department offers diversified curriculum in the life sciences. Programs are designed to prepare students for advanced studies in graduate or professional school and for careers in teaching, research and applied biology. Programs include required core courses, which provide students with intensive and balanced learning experiences in cell, molecular, organismal, population and environmental biology, and elective courses which allow flexibility to tailor academic programs to meet educational or career goals.

Faculty research programs, supported with public and private funds, provide opportunities for students to participate in research. Additional research opportunities result from collaborative programs with Harbor UCLA Research and Education Institute.
